Kinky Naturals was started with the aim of creating natural and organic hair products, that will help alleviate many of the issues that we Naturalistas would regularly encounter. Problems such as stunted growth, dry, brittle, thinning and damaged hair.
Many times we use products in our hair that contains ingredients that would cause more harm than good in the long run. As a result, I began experimenting with natural ingredients to develop my own products. In doing so, my hair became very healthy and retained quite a lot of length.
Some of the things I did to retain length and keep my hair healthy were: Regular deep conditioning with my DIY honey + avocado deep masks. I also began washing and detangling in sections either using my fingers, wide-tooth comb or Denman brush. I also applied Ochro to my hair (yes, Ochro) as a leave in conditioner for easier detangling.
Another natural product that I started using in replacement of shampoo is the bentonite clay treatment. It has worked at keeping my hair very soft and clean without stripping it of its natural oils, and helped to define and elongate my curls. Last but not least, trim those ends! Healthy hair should be preferred over length. If your hair is not healthy it will not grow. Stop holding on to those dead ends, they will cause your hair to knot on each other and create even more tangles.
Be patient, gentle and consistent with your hair and it will flourish….. LOVE YOUR HAIR.
With all of the above mentioned practices my hair was finally the healthiest it has ever been in my entire lifetime. I was able to do more with it, because it was more manageable and longer as you can see in the Before and After picture.
As time went by, my hair’s health and growth became noticeable to a lot of persons. They kept inquiring about my techniques and DIYs, eventually suggesting that I should start selling my homemade mixtures. Most didn’t have the time to make it themselves or the know-how.
From thence forth, I came up with the brand Kinky Naturals.
I am now able to turn my personal hair growth recipe into gentle hair products and often provide hair care tips to others.
This my friends is how Kinky Naturals was birthed. It is something I put a lot of effort and dedication into. Your hair health and growth success stories make this journey more than worth it and as a result I would appreciate as much support from you.
